Polite Citizen

He queues for bread and says pardon before moving a barricade.

Street Cat

He hears one siren and immediately appoints himself to the front.

Night Note

France Freedom Fighter reports for the late shift when the shutters rattle and the boulevard fills. He has no manifesto longer than a bakery receipt. He wants the square open, the neighbors safe, and tomorrow’s croissants delivered on time. If a barricade needs watching, he watches it. If a chant needs volume, he supplies the face. At dawn, he takes attendance by counting dented café chairs near the curb.

Liberty clocks out after breakfast.
